About the Museum

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

There is no admission cost, though monetary donations are encouraged to support local Veterans and their needs and to keep the VFW Museum in existence now and into the future.

The purpose of the Museum is educational; reaching out to the young and adults alike and enriching both groups on the importance of our military history from the birth of our Nation to the present War on Terrorism.

Local high school and elementary school students visit the VFW Museum frequently, either on a history class project or out of historical interest and leave in awe, having learned something new. Teachers often ask our directors for a lecturer to come and address their classes. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10049 hosts an impressive display at the Museum of Military History Posters and Memorabilia.

There are hundreds of military posters and historical artifacts on display that have been graciously provided by local Veterans and collectors. There are Vietnam era weapons on display, munitions and military equipment from all eras. 100-year old posters, WWII era newspapers, uniforms and much more provide a historical sequence of events.

Several Vietnam Veterans volunteer their time to give tours to the visiting public.

Special Tours are available by Appointment for Schools and Private Groups.

The VFW Military History Museum is open to the general public and it welcomes Veterans and Active Military from all the Armed Services. Veterans can come and see displays of WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. The Museum also has a few items on the current War on Terrorism, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The VFW Post 10049 Service Officer is available on Wednesdays from 12:00 noon till 3:00 pm to assist veterans and their families with Veterans Administration claims and benefits.

A huge thank you to the owners of the Simi Valley Town Center mall for without their generosity the Museum would not be possible. And of course thanks to the Veterans who made this and our freedoms possible.

Support the Museum

We are a nonprofit Veterans of Foreign Wars organization. As a VFW Museum we rely on your donations to stay in business. We need your help to keep this beautiful Museum operating. We support the community with educational events about what veterans have done from the Revolutionary War to present.

We educate school children, scouts, and community groups. We hold educational events commemorating Memorial Day, D-Day – June 6th, POW-MIA Day, and Pearl Harbor Day – December 7th.  Your donations are needed so we can continue our educational activities.
